In a bizarre collaboration that breaks usual forecasts, Ubisoft has announced an in-game collaboration between Assassin's Creed Shadows and the renowned anime series Attack on Titan. The unusual holiday event runs from November 25 through December 22, offering free bonus story content for Shadows players.

Strange Questline Uncovered

According to the formal release, "A strange confrontation draws heroes Naoe and Yasuke into a new mission, where rumors of prohibited ceremonies and monstrous changes resonate through the obscurity." The storyline features a "oddly dressed woman named Ada" who charges the characters with journeying into the Crystal Cave—a significant location from Attack on Titan—to save her companion from a secret sect.

The adventure focuses on "bizarre experiments and a terrifying enemy" and is available to all players who have unlocked the Yasuke character.

Recognizable Locations and Changes

The teaser features the Underground Chapel from Attack on Titan recreated as the Crystal Cave. This significant location was earlier where the Reiss royal family handed down the Founding Titan ability through eras. The teaser finishes with a striking scene showing a character, likely the captive, transforming into a Titan that looms over Naoe and Yasuke.

Special Rewards and Bonus Content

Players who accomplish the quest will acquire an exclusive katana in addition to multiple items concealed throughout the area in hidden chests. The update also features purchasable Attack on Titan item packs, offering:

This update also adds the game's third complimentary story episode, titled "The Mystery." Loyal to its name, "A Puzzlement" also features a fresh environmental puzzle that may eventually shed light on some unanswered questions from the main storyline.

The series earlier included a 2020 cross-promotional story connecting Assassin's Creed: Valhalla with Makoto Yukimura's Vinland Saga. Moreover, Valhalla subtly included a quest that unmistakably referenced the well-known series One-Punch Man.
